Vaasa City gas buses will be taking EnergyWeek participants coming to Vaasa with Finnair’s morning flight (landing at 08:25) to the hotels and the City Hall free of charge from Tuesday the 21st until Friday the 24th of March. Transportation back to the airport from the city hall Monday to Friday at 16:45.
From the East you will get to Vaasa along highway 3, and from the South and North along highway 8. The travel time from Helsinki to Vaasa is 4.5 hours, from Tampere 2.5 hours, from Turku 4 hours and from Oulu 4 hours.
If you need to park you vehicle in the center of the town, the most convenient place is the carpark ToriParkki underneath the market square. There are two entrance ramps – one from the south and another from the north. Park your vehicle in the ToriParkki and ask for a free parking pass at the Visitor Registration Stand. There is a ferry-crossing to Vaasa across Kvarken from Umeå, Sweden. Wasa Line operates Umeå and Vaasa nearly on a daily basis.
By train you have easy access to Vaasa from all larger cities in Finland. The travel time by train from Helsinki to Vaasa is approximately 4 hours.
